Glasgow 2014: Jersey triathletes take 17th and 24th in Glasgow heat

Jersey triathlete Dan Halksworth produced a fine performance to finish 17th in the men’s triathlon at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, whilst teammate Tom Perchard finished strongly in the heat to take 24th place.

UK Ironman champion Halksworth was sixth out of the water and third after the 40km cycle.

Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee took gold at Strathcylde Park ahead of brother Jonny.

Halksworth told ITV News he enjoyed his experience in Scotland.

He said: “I just went out there to have fun and that’s what I’ve done today.

“I would definitely have taken 17th place at the start of the day, a top 15 finish would have been my gold medal but this was a good day.”
