Club News, Race Info And Updates

Greetings Club
Few things to cover off with you lovely triathletes!

Jersey Tri Club Questionnaire
Your ever diligent Committee need your feedback ahead of this year’s AGM.  We like to think we are in touch, but want to make sure!  Please take 5 minutes to complete the attached, you can do so anonymously if you wish – but we would prefer you provided your name so that we can follow up individually as needed.  It really is a quick questionnaire – click on the following link to complete!

The findings will be shared in full with the whole club.

St Catherine’s Relay Triathlon
*         Date: 28th September 2014
*         Location: St Catherine’s breakwater
*         Start Time: 07:30am
*         Registration: 06:45am
*         Race Briefing and team announcement: 07:15am

The team will be made up of 4 members, picked at random on the morning of the event, and consisting of: 1 x under 11 Jnr, 1 x Jnr / Novice, 1 x Male, 1 x Female (or as close as possible to this mix!) The aim is to make this a fun, fast and competitive event with a good mix within the teams.  No need to worry about getting a team together before you get there, just turn up and register on time and your team will be sorted for you – all you have do is race.

The course will consist of a 250m swim, 6km bike and 1.6km run (the under 11’s will do a shortened down course).  Each team member will complete all three phases of the triathlon before tagging the next team member to set off.  Wetsuits are not expected to be compulsory assuming the water stays warm. If you are not planning on racing but are able to help out with marshaling please let us know.

The trailer
Does anyone have somewhere that we could store the trailer?  Space is at a premium and we are hoping someone has some space in a garage or a field somewhere (!) This is pretty urgent so please let us know if you can help.

A van!
And on the topic of trailers…our beloved trailer is pretty much dead, it has served us (and Simon’s suspension) very well indeed over the years – but it is falling apart and doesn’t really reflect the clubs image as we have evolved over the last few years.  We are exploring options as to securing a deal for a club van but if anyone has any contacts or bright ideas for the best option (buy / lease etc), please let us know!  We are hoping to get a van that could be used to transport all the equipment and possibly be used to transport club members and bikes to events in the UK and France.

Possible Race Addition
Please keep 12 October free for a potential addition to the 2014 race calendar.  We might be able to squeeze a final triathlon or duathlon but watch this space!
And for now…over and out!
