Junior & Youth Code of Conduct

Hey there, future triathlon stars! Welcome to Big Maggy’s TriStar’s Junior Triathlon Club! We want everyone to have a blast while swimming, biking, and running. To make sure everyone has fun and stays safe, we have some cool rules to follow. Let’s dive in!

For all particpants

  • Listen Up! When coaches or instructors give you tips, listen carefully. They’re here to help you get better and stay safe.
  • Respect Everyone! Be kind to other participants, coaches, instructors, officials, and volunteers. Treat everyone like a friend.
  • Play Fair! Follow the rules and always play fair. Cheating is a no-no!
  • Do Your Best! Give it your all in every race and practice. You’re awesome!
  • No Bullying! Never bully anyone, whether in person, by phone, text, or online. We’re all here to support each other.
  • Take Care of Stuff! Look after all the equipment and property. Treat it like it’s your own.

For Parents/Guardians:

  • Cheer Them On! Support your child’s involvement and help them enjoy triathlon. Your cheers mean a lot!
  • Celebrate Effort! Help your child recognize good performance, not just winning. Effort is what counts!
  • No Pressure! Never force your child to take part in triathlon. Let them enjoy it at their own pace.
  • Be Kind! Never punish or belittle your child for losing or making mistakes. Everyone learns from them.
  • Encourage Responsibility! Guide your child to take responsibility for their own conduct and performance.
  • Respect the Coach! Support the coach and respect their decisions. They’re here to help everyone improve.
  • Follow the Rules! Use the proper procedures if you have any concerns or disputes.
  • Stay Informed! Inform the club or event organizers of any relevant medical information and provide your contact details.
  • Dress Right! Make sure your child wears suitable clothing and has the right food and drink.
  • Safety First! Take responsibility for your child’s safety and conduct in and around the clubhouse/event venue.
  • Encourage Responsibility: Help your child take charge of their actions.
  • Balance Exercise: Remember, kids are still growing – don’t overdo it.
  • Rest When Injured: Take breaks if hurt – there’s always next week!

What to do if something is wrong:

If you think someone isn’t following these rules, let your Club Welfare Officer or the person in charge know. We’re all here to make sure everyone has a great time!
